Journal prompts from Laura Shriner a.k.a @hotgirlhealthclub

It's always good to check in with yourself. Meet Laura a.k.a @hotgirlhealthclub, a 25 year old lover of wellness and creating.

"I would refer to myself as a salty cowgirl, you can find me near a body of water usually in a bikini messy hair writing all my jumbled thoughts in my phone notes or journal, drinking an iced matcha with a camera strapped to me."

She started @hotgirlhealthclub initially as a funny ode the iconic pandemic "hot girl walk" to share the skin care and wellness related concepts with a more concise audience.

"It has morphed over the last two years into a creative and safe space to document my own mental health journey, and to connect with so many beautiful women (and some men) through unfiltered raw discussions on mental health, trauma, and healing. Ultimately this page led to my sobriety and my podcast, the afterglow. (I've been sober a year this June!) Please come follow and join this space, everyone is welcome ! <3"

Laura's thoughts on journaling:

Journaling to me is a form of meditation, nobody should harbor all their thoughts inside all the time it just weighs you down.

I have always been a deep feeler and deep thinker so writing out my emotions and thoughts releases them from my brain and sometimes that is the release I need to let go of feelings and situations I have been holding onto tightly for too long.

Journaling also allows self-reflection and documenting growth, being able to sort through ideas, thoughts, dreams, and to just meet yourself where you are in this time of life and then to be able to re-read it later on when maybe you've accomplished that goal or overcome that area that was holding you down so long — it is beautiful and so powerful.

Self check-in prompts:

- I AM CURRENTLY LOVING, LISTENING TO, AND READING?

- WHAT IS HOLDING ME BACK RIGHT NOW?

- WHAT IS MOTIVATING ME IN LIFE RIGHT NOW?

- HOW CAN I SHOW UP FOR MYSELF BETTER IN THIS SEASON?
