3 looks to step up your WFH wardrobe

Meet Emily Russell, a late 20-something based in Charlotte, NC just living each day trying to maintain the equilibrium of career life, creative life, beautiful friendships and the rest. An avid fashionista, she recently created @bourbonbootbabe, an Instagram page for documenting outfits, creative projects, and showcasing her personal styling clientele.

We’ll let Emily take it from here as she walks us through three stylish work from home ‘fits.

Emily’s top WFH looks:

I have a day job that gives me the freedom to act on my creative endeavors when off the clock, and luckily, that job is hybrid. I love a good office serve — but when working form home, being comfy yet put together is the key to success. Here are some of my favorite combos featuring my cozy office/living room.

Outfit #1

It took me a while to get on the form fitting romper/onesie trend, but once I did I realized what I’ve been missing out on. A 2023 goal of mine was to integrate more color into my wardrobe and once this bright blue number caught my eye in Target, I knew she was the one to try.

I paired it with this bright yellow over-sized button-up from H&M for a little bit of fun. Layering a button up when WFH is my go-to because you can just button the first few, hop on a meeting and look professional in a jiffy.

Outfit #2

Nothing beats an elevated sweatshirt and legging combo. I have been practically living in these Offline by Aerie real me Leggings. These are hands down the most comfortable and affordable leggings I have come across. Super high-waisted and very forgiving (no top seam — major key), and they stay in place. I wear them for working, yoga, pilates, and just straight chillin’.

These pair great with this Offline by Aerie cropped quarter zip as a more elevated version of a hoodie.

Outfit #3

Last but not least, a matching set — nothing beats feeling cute and put together in a matching duo. My favorite is this black set from Amazon and she comes in a few different colorways too.

To bring it together: Another oversize button-up feature, this one is my favorite from Buckle. It works over activewear, beach wear, and everything in-between. I like to get up a little early on Fridays to get in a deep stretch and meditation. An outfit like this is perfect for the transition from mat to desk.
